Derek Gibb – Director / Partner

Derek spent his early years working for an Edinburgh and Borders firm of Livestock Auctioneers and Estate Agents before joining the family’s long established property management company. The family company grew to become one of Edinburgh`s largest and most respected property management companies. In early 2012 Derek in partnership with his brother Kevan sold the family business to a group of investors.

The sale of the business offered the opportunity to establish a portfolio of owned properties and a self-catering holiday accommodation business. Forming Derek Gibb & Partners Ltd in 2013 in partnership with his brother Kevan has taken him a full circle back to growing a new company built on the history and background of the Gibb Family`s six generations of involvement in looking after properties.

Family – Derek is married to Catherine and they have a son and daughter.

Favourite Pastimes – Catamaran racing and sailing on Scotland`s west coast.

Kevan Gibb – Director / Partner

Kevan`s career began with a boat building apprenticeship in wooden fishing boats in Eyemouth. A move to the Clyde and then to England`s south coast building racing yachts and then specialising in high performance dinghies gave Kevan a very practical grounding in life. His love of sailing has rewarded him with four World championship wins in the Wayfarer class dinghy. Eventually joining his brother Derek in running the family property business enthused his interest in all property related matters. Following the sale of the family property business Kevan took the opportunity to set up a yacht and architectural rigging business which is now managed by one of his sons. Kevan`s strength of attention to detail and down to earth practical attitude is a real asset to Clients and Tenants.

Family – Kevan is married to Lynne and they have three sons.

Favourite Pastimes – Dinghy racing and cycling.

Brian Duncan – Partner

Brian has a great enthusiasm for all property matters. Brian worked in the property department of one of Scotland`s largest brewing companies for many years and then for a short spell with an Edinburgh based factoring company. Eventually moving to join Derek & Kevan in their family business where he successfully helped build the business and in particular the property factoring department. There was no hesitation when presented with the opportunity to join Derek and Kevan in the new firm of Derek Gibb & Partners Ltd and with a wealth of property experience all Clients and Tenants benefit from his involvement.

Family – Brian is married to Anne and they live on the south side of Edinburgh.

Favourite Pastime – Gardening and dining out.
